For my funny Valentines

When I make a mix CD, I like to make a pretty liner.  Here is my latest, For My Funny Valentines: I used some paper left over from the scrapbook I made for my husband--anything that had pink or red in it--to make those cutout hearts. Then I slapped on a kraft paper label and stamped some hearts in red ink.

Baby Shower Invitations

I co-hosted a baby shower for some friends of ours in the fall. My co-hosting duties included whipping up some shrimp salad sandwiches, organizing a few shower games, blowing up lots of balloons, and, of course, creating the invites. I used a light blue postcard as background (our friends were expectng a son) and rubber-stamped "baby" at the top and "RSVP" on the bottom, both in light blue after printing the rest of the text on soft white A2 sized paper. I stamped some baby bottles and rattles onto light green paper, cut them out, ran them through the sticker-maker and affixed them to the bottom of the invites.  Hubby got to make the cake. Wedding Brunch Invitations

My mom and dad hosted a brunch at their home the day after the wedding. Here are the simple invites I made for the event.

Wedding Odds and Ends

Pictured below are the numbers used to adorn the tables along with some bookmarks I made to serve as favors.  (We also had daisy shaped cookie cutters and a sugar cookie recipe, but I didn't make those.)

There were six different writings on the bookmarks. Two featured short passages from Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms; one featured the first half of the lyrics to The Beatles' Here, There and Everywhere (our wedding song), another featured the second half; the remaining two featured a short passage from de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince in French and English.

Wedding Programs

Some photos of the programs handed out at the wedding. I used three layers of paper - sage green, light pink, and white - held together with two brads at the top.  I affixed a cherry blossom sticker in an accenting pink to the bottom of each program. The top page listed the wedding party and important details like date and time.  The second page listed the order of the Mass and named those who participated in the ceremony. Finally, we reserved the last page for thank yous and remembrances. This was one of my favorite pieces to make.

Rehearsal Dinner Invitation: Lakeside Lobster Bake

My first time using the Xyron sticker maker! I found a neat lobster graphic online, printed it onto red cardstock many, many times and made lobster stickers to accentuate these lakeside lobster bake invitations.

More wedding stuff: Invititations

Here are the invites sent out for our wedding. I used a green backing with black text on white paper. I wrapped a strip of pink vellum and a pink ribbon around the outside of each. Under the ribbon, I used a green dot sticker to hold the vellum together and hand write each guest's name. Thank goodness I had bridesmaids with nimble fingers to help me tie all those knots!

Back in early 2006, these were the Save-the-Dates my husband and I sent out. It was the first real greeting I made.
