Hats off to you!

The Grey Moggie is in quite a state. (And we didn't know we were having guests.*) I assure you there is good reason.  Spring break in law school is quite bittersweet. On the one hand, we get a week off to regain the lives we had before the semester started. On the other hand, it's only one week and then we're jerked back to reality.  It gets harder every time! Then, when we head back to the classes and books we're that much closer to exams. I'm also lending a hand with an upcoming journal event so my non-Grey Moggie world has swallowed me whole.

These cards remind me that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That light may be off in the distance still , but it does exist. A reliable source says there are only 414 days until I am deserving of these cards. For now you can send them to your favorite soon-to-be graduates.

The front of the card features a graduation hat (mortar boards, are they called?) and a stamped message: "The world is waiting for you." The inside reads "Congratulations" with lots of room left over for your own sweet message.

The Grey Moggie Lives

Everything's coming up COLOR! (a grey moggie update and some new thank you cards)

I've been so inspired over the last few days. Despite frigid temperatures, spring is in the air, and I've gotten a lot of outdoor time. I have a week off from school and spent the weekend catching up and getting crazy with friends. I just had to make these super bright thank you cards in response to my general disposition.

I've taken full advantage of my time off. Thursday was trivia night at Looking Glass Lounge in Petworth and we managed to avoid last place. After pints with friends on Friday night, a group of us dressed up as the castaways from Gilligan's Island and raced around the city with a shopping cart on Saturday to raise money for Miriam's Kitchen as part of the DC Idiotarod.


Yesterday, I was able to join Mr. Moggie at the farmers' market for the first time since school started up in the fall. It was great to see his interactions with all the farmers he's gotten to know over the last few months. I'd forgotten how beautiful fresh produce is when laid out in wooden crates and galvanized steel buckets basking in the sunshine.


I've been keeping up with my training for the 10-miler and got to walk around the city and shop with Mr. Moggie and our good friend, Steph, yesterday, so I've had no shortage of sunshine (though I've had to bundle up).

Today I saw Penelope, which was adorably charming, and then wandered around Paper Source, which is always charming.

And the artichokes have sprouted!!

Is it any wonder this is what I created today?

The Real Grey Moggie - The Battle

There she is...looking very suspicious.

And then she forgets that she's at war with a rolled up candy wrapper (her FAVORITE toy, by far) and attacks her own tail instead.

Flowers on your birthday

You know how I feel about orange and blue, but lately I've been loving a blue-green combination. Actually that color duo may have been the reason the cupcake scrapshop kit made me so unbelievably happy! This new card is one way I've manged to get these two hues together lately.

These A2-size cards have stamped flowers falling along the bottom of the front. And there's a happy birthday message stamped and embossed onto a green background - also accented with the stamped flowers.  The inside is blank for a personal bithday greeting.

More cupcakes!

Cupcakes are everywhere! And now I've got some cupcake cards to show off.

These 4 bar white cards have a cut out sliver and pink cupcake on the front - topped off with a bright red cherry! The front of the card is stamped with the greeting "Eat Sweets" and the inside of the card reads "happy birthday" in red ink.

Cupcake ScrapShop

I've been waiting a few days for my new Jovovich-Hawk shirts to arrive from Target. I've been anticipating the pretty shirts so much that I had forgotten that I ordered the March Cupcake Scrapshop kit. Instead of being disappointed that the shirts still did not arrive today I was elated that the package on the porch was from Cupcake.
This was my first cupcake kit and I was worried I wouldn't be able to use everything in the package. Cupcake's monthly kits are aimed at scrappers, but the paper in this month's kit is just so absolutely gorgeous that it will be sure to find a home on Grey Moggie cards. In fact, I've already cut these strips to use in a new birthday card design. I couldn't be happier if actual cupcakes had been delivered to my door.

Speaking of home deliveries, check out my Mr. Moggie's sweet post about our new relationship with a local dairy farm that delivers fresh milk (and cheese and yogurt and butter) in glass bottles to our front door every Friday. Yum!
