Custom Work: A wedding in the Maine woods

I don’t think there exists any photo of the four of us in which we are all looking at the camera. We are all such…individuals.

Those four people up there? In the photo? Well, one of them is me. The other three? Those are my best friends from high school, Katie, Jessica, and Jason. Three of the funniest people I know. Three of the most hardworking, smartest people I know. Three people with whom I share a past and many embarrassing memories. My faves, if you will.

And one of them got married on Saturday, so the four of us got to spend some time together over the weekend at a summer camp in Maine. Katie, the bride, who also happens to be an accountant AND a photographer, took the photos at our wedding six years ago. Fittingly, I printed and designed (with her help) her wedding invitations.

Selva Bell Response Card: Back & Front

Katie & Eric’s wedding colors were yellow and grey, one of my favorite color combinations, and Katie wanted the invitation to feel like Maine, with pine trees and “maybe a deer head.” So I complied. I printed the invitations on double thick Crane Lettra paper so that I could print on both sides. I used a pine tree motif on the back of the invite and a deer head motif on the back of the response card. A while back I posted the hand-painted, striped envelope liners I made. They were part of this project, too.

The wedding was so lovely and sweet and filled with love, just like Katie and Eric. I was thrilled to help them turn their vision into reality, at least on paper.

Overexposed? Yes. But you get the point.

Side note: Yes, Katie and I each married an Eric. So did Jessica. Jason hasn’t yet.
